Review: You are Mine by Janeal Falor

Summary:

Serena knows a few simple things. She will always be owned by a warlock. She will never have freedom. She will always do what her warlock wishes, regardless of how inane, frivolous, or cruel it is. And if she doesn't follow the rules, she will be tarnished. Spelled to be bald, inked, and barren for the rest of her life—worth less than the shadow she casts.

Then her ownership is won by a barbarian from another country. With the uncertainty that comes from belonging to a new warlock, Serena questions if being tarnished is really worse than being owned by a barbarian, and tempts fate by breaking the rules. When he looks the other way instead of punishing her, she discovers a new world. The more she ventures into the forbidden, the more she learns of love and a freedom just out of reach. Serena longs for both. But in a society where women are only ever property, hoping for more could be deadly.     (Goodreads)

My Thoughts :

When I opened this book and saw the page count I was worried that I might not even reach half before striking it out. But surprisingly as I started reading I didn't even notice on which page I was. Normally it would have taken me a day or two to complete this book but as I was being annoyingly distracted by my chores and study it took me 3 days to complete it and every time I left I was thinking what would happen next. Not what I expected !

I loved the story! The plot building, characters growing, unexpected twists, heart faltering moments all add to the fantastic world that Janeal Falor has created ! This was a refreshing read and a totally new take on warlocks! I will definitely be reading the next book in the series not because there is a cliffhanger in the end because there isn't one thankfully! I will be anticipating the next book because I can't wait to find what happens in the next book and whose story I will get to read!

I give a hearty thanks to Janeal for sending me this book !

* I received a free ecopy of this book by the author for review purposes.
